Character Creation in Creator Chronicles

Race, class, profession, and difficulty before you rebuild the burned village.

Character Creation

Character creation in Creator Chronicles is short, and that is the trap. Race, class, profession, and difficulty lock when you start a new save. The 14 September 2026 full build promises improved creation and five save slots; the demo does not give you a generous reroll loop. Read this page before Getting Started if you have not clicked New Game yet.

The campaign is single-player. Your guild master is not a cosmetic flag. They walk into Hidden Swamp with the party, take hits, and can die. On Conqueror a death resets that member’s level to 1. A master built as a joke still occupies a party slot.

Difficulty (new game only)

You choose difficulty once.

  • Beginner: monsters run at 60 percent stats. There is no level reset, no permanent leave from mood, and no speedrun board.
  • Adventurer: full monster stats, but still no level reset, no permanent leave, and no speedrun ranking.
  • Conqueror: dungeon death resets the fallen member to level 1. Mood can cause a permanent leave. A speedrun ranking records your pace.

If you want to learn buildings without quit notices, start on Beginner or Adventurer, then make a fresh Conqueror save. You cannot convert a village later.

Races

RaceCombat bonus
HumanPhysical attack +100
DwarfHP +1200
GnomeSpell power +100
ElfMana +1500

Humans and dwarves suit physical tanks and melee damage. Gnomes and elves suit casters. A dwarf Warrior is a safe first master if you have not read the class tier list yet. A gnome Mage wants a tank in front before you press F.

Classes and weapons

ClassTypical kit
WarriorShield, sword, dagger
WarlockDagger, staff, book
RogueLight armor, dagger
PriestLow-defense armor
Knight / PaladinMace, shield, book
MageStaff, dagger, book
HunterBow, guns, crossbow
DruidStaff, book, blunt

Warriors and Knights hold the line. Priests and some Druids keep people standing. Hunters and Rogues deal damage from safer ranges. Warlocks and Mages want mana and time. Demo notes call out Warrior Rage haste stacks and Hunter Rapid Fire as haste buffs worth building around; see Combat once you have a party. Weapon columns are not fashion: a Priest in low-def armor is a heal battery, not a second tank.

Your first Hidden Swamp party still needs three members even if the master is strong. Creation does not replace Recruit members.

Professions

Profession level equals the member’s combat level. The job you pick on the master is a combat stat, not only a village chore.

ProfessionCombat bonus
MiningPhysical attack +60
FishingCrit +6
EnchantingMagic attack +60
EngineeringHaste +40
BlacksmithingDefense +300
AlchemyMana +1200
HerbalismHP +800
CookingHaste +40

Herbalism and Blacksmithing are forgiving on a first master because HP and defense keep the swamp from ending the save. Alchemy on a caster master is a mana pillow. Cooking and Engineering are haste, which pairs with Warrior Rage and Hunter Rapid Fire. Mining is extra physical attack for melee. Fishing is a small crit chip. Enchanting is magic attack for gnomes and elves. Rank the jobs as village engines on the profession tier list and on jobs.

A herbalism master still wants a dedicated herbalist in the roster. The master’s profession does not staff a building by itself.

How to decide in five minutes

  1. Pick difficulty for the chronicle you want, not for a Steam screenshot.
  2. Pick a race that matches the damage type you will actually click.
  3. Pick a class that fills the hole you cannot recruit in the first ten minutes: usually a tank or a healer.
  4. Pick a profession that either keeps you alive (Herbalism, Blacksmithing, Alchemy) or feeds a building you will place immediately.
  5. Confirm Controls so you can pause before a bad invite.

Then go rebuild. Village buildings spends the gold. Dungeons spends the party. The party planner is useful after you know who Lettuce and Mona are, not before you exist.

Full launch on 14 September 2026 adds improved character creation and five save slots, which is the right time to keep a Beginner village and a Conqueror village side by side. Until then, one honest save beats three half-made masters. Demo progress still does not transfer, so a pretty face in the demo is practice, not a keep.

If you are still staring at hair colors, close the cosmetic row and look at Conqueror’s leave rule again. The chronicle is named after what you do after a wipe, not after the portrait. Make a master who can walk into Hidden Swamp without forcing the healer to solo the log.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for new guild masters.

Can I change difficulty later?

No. Difficulty is chosen only at new game. Plan the run on this page, then follow Getting Started on a save you can live with.

Which race is best for a first guild master?

Dwarf HP +1200 is the safest cushion for Hidden Swamp. Humans add physical attack. Compare roles on the class tier list before you pick a squishy caster.

Does my profession affect combat?

Yes. Profession level equals combat level, and each job adds a combat stat. See the table above and the profession tier list.

Does the guild master enter dungeons?

Yes. The master walks into Hidden Swamp with the party. Build them as a real member using Combat and Dungeons.

What does the full launch change about creation?

The 14 September 2026 build adds improved character creation and five save slots. Timing is on the launch notes. Demo saves still do not carry over.
