Creator Chronicles demo

A rehearsal village that ends on 13 September, one day before the Steam unlock.

Public Demo Notes

The public demo is Steam app 3978190, listed from the main Creator Chronicles store page. Origin Studio has been running Next Fest slices, numbered demo updates, and a hard close on 13 September 2026. The full client unlocks the next day at 08:00 UTC. This page is what the demo is for, what it contains, and why you should not treat it like a pre-order beta with a transfer.

Demo saves do not carry over. Pacing, UI, and balance are still moving. Anything you name, enchant, or auction in the demo is practice. Screenshot a roster if you want. The 14 September save slots start empty. There are five of those slots in the full build; the demo file is not a sixth.

What the demo actually gives you

Studio copy and tester notes agree on a compact slice:

  • About 120 unique members to discover and invite. You still only need three for Hidden Swamp.
  • Four normal dungeons. Hidden Swamp is the level 1–4 teaching cave. It is not the whole list, and it is not Raid 1.
  • Roughly two hours to reach level 20 if you stop staring at the auction house.
  • Village loop: repair burned plots, farm, brew, fish, sell, and send parallel parties.
  • Lower machine bar than the full game. Demo minimum RAM and disk were listed around 4 GB each. The full Windows minimum jumps to 8 GB RAM and 16 GB disk. Check system requirements before you assume a laptop that ran the demo will love launch day.

CBT2 was a different door. That private build tested the Tavern and Raid 1. If your demo client has no tavern stool, you are not missing a hidden button. You are on the public slice.

How to spend the last demo days

Play it like a tutorial for the wiki, not like a season pass:

  1. Create a master with a real racial bonus using character creation.
  2. Invite a tank, a healer, and a damage seat from the early roster.
  3. Clear Hidden Swamp on Beginner, take the village trait point, then try Adventurer once.
  4. Stand up a farm and an alchemy lab so Seran’s job is not theoretical. The village guide is enough; do not decorate for a screenshot that will vanish.
  5. Read one battle log slowly with the combat guide open.
  6. Stop before Conqueror unless you want to watch someone leave. Permanent leave is a full-game lesson you can wait to pay for.

If you have already done that, you have finished the demo. Wishlist the full game and go outside. Grinding a fourth dungeon for a weapon that will not migrate is how people get angry at 08:00 UTC.

What the demo is bad at teaching

Mood has fewer levers without the Tavern. Hall of Battle is not there. Ranking seasons are not there. Party Strategy potions are not there. Five save slots are not there. You can still learn that members quit, that parallel parties exist, and that Alchemy wants a second crew. You cannot learn the launch meta. The class rankings are labeled opinion for that reason.

Controls and accessibility are worth poking while the slice is free. Steam tags a mouse-only option, custom volume, and playable without timed input. If the demo already fights your hands, the controls guide is a better use of the last evening than another swamp run.

After 13 September

The demo goes away. The launch page becomes the front door. Rebuild with the getting started walkthrough and the party planner. Bring muscle memory, not a folder of .sav files.

If Origin Studio restates save rules in a last-day news post, that post wins. Until then this wiki will keep repeating the unfun sentence: the demo is a lesson, and lessons end.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for new guild masters.

When does the demo close?

13 September 2026, the day before launch. The clock is also on the launch page.

Will my demo characters appear on 14 September?

No. Demo saves do not carry over. Start fresh with getting started.

How many dungeons are in the demo?

Four normal dungeons. Hidden Swamp is the first. Routes are on the dungeon guide.

Is Raid 1 in the demo?

Raid 1 was tested in CBT2, not advertised as part of the four-dungeon public slice. See the roadmap.

Why bother playing a demo that deletes itself?

To learn invites, logs, and professions. Take those habits into the party planner, not the save file.
