Creator Chronicles Member mood
Glass hearts, battle logs, food, and the Tavern that is still waiting on 14 September.
Origin Studio’s store page says the quiet part: guild members have a fragile mentality and can quit after a dungeon defeat. Mood is not a dating sim meter you min-max for extra dialogue. It is the roster survival system. This page explains what we actually know from the demo, CBT2, and the launch notes, and what is still waiting on the 14 September 2026 build.
If you only change one habit after reading, change this one: stop sending your only three members into a fight you already lost on the log. Hidden Swamp is a short cave. It is long enough to empty a guild.
What mood is reacting to
Deaths are the obvious spike. A wipe on Beginner is a lesson. A wipe on Adventurer is a bill. A wipe on Conqueror can reset levels and turn a leave into a permanent hole. That difficulty is how the game asks whether you were paying attention to combat, not whether you like pain.
Fatigue is the quieter spike. Parallel parties exist so one group can rest, craft, or sell while another group is in the swamp. If the same Priest is in every screenshot, that Priest is also in every funeral. Lettuce and Seran both heal; use both. The party page is a mood guide wearing a composition hat.
Hunger and work sit under that. Cooking and Fishing are not jokes. Mine-unlock food is a logistics problem, and hungry people make worse tanks. Herbalism health and Alchemy mana reduce the number of deaths, which reduces the number of resignation speeches. Profession bonuses are listed on the profession ranks because they are mood tools as much as damage tools.
What you can do in the demo
The public demo does not give you the full Tavern loop. You still have the village: houses, farm, lab, auction house, and the ability to stop clicking “again” on a bad pull. Read the battle log. Swap a Hunter in for a Rogue. Drop to Beginner (60% monster stats) if you are trying to learn a new job. Beginner is not an insult. It is how you keep Kanji from walking out over a toad.
Gear is mood. Origin Studio’s own advice is to make members and equipment strong enough in lower dungeons before you ask them to stare at bigger monsters. That is the Hidden Swamp trait point talking. First clear, then farm, then raise the difficulty. Skipping the farm because you watched a raid clip is how glass hearts shatter.
Housing matters more than decoration screenshots suggest. A repaired plot is a place to stand that is not the swamp. Use the village guide and the village planner so people have jobs when they are not dying.
What the full build adds
The launch client adds a Tavern so you can talk with members and help manage mood. CBT2 already let testers poke that system plus Raid 1. We are not going to invent a gift table or a romance checklist that Origin Studio has not published. What we can say: conversation is a lever you do not have in every demo build, and you should not plan your 13 September save around it. Demo saves do not carry over anyway.
Hall of Battle is asynchronous PvP, not a mood dungeon. Ranking seasons will publish records. Party Strategy potions will add another way to keep a triangle standing. Five save slots make it easier to isolate a Conqueror experiment from the campaign you actually like. None of that replaces food, rest, and a second healer.
Practical rules that survive patches
- Never put your only tank, only healer, and only cook in the same doomed pull.
- After a wipe, change one thing: seat, difficulty, potion, or route. Then go again.
- Keep a bench. The demo has 120 unique members; you need more than three names even if only three enter the cave.
- Match professions so downtime is productive. A sad smith still makes armor. A sad idle body just leaves.
- Watch Conqueror like a live fire. Permanent leave is not a tooltip for other people.
If someone does walk, recruit again using recruit and the early roster. Do not chase them into a difficulty they already rejected. The chronicle you are writing includes the people who stayed, not the Warlock you fed to the first pack because the class list said B-tier has a ceiling.
Mood will get more buttons at launch. Until then the buttons are boring, and boring is how Hidden Swamp gets a first clear.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for new guild masters.
Can a member quit after one death?
Yes. The store copy is explicit. Lower the difficulty and rebuild using combat before you send them back.
Does the demo include the Tavern?
Not as the full launch loop. CBT2 tested it. Details and timing are on the launch page.
What difficulty is safest for fragile members?
Beginner, with monsters at 60% stats. Move up after a farmed swamp clear. See dungeons.
Does food really affect mood?
Cooking and Fishing exist to feed people and unlock the mine. Pair them on the profession list and jobs page.
Will Hall of Battle punish low mood?
Treat it as asynchronous PvP with a trained party, not a therapy tool. Prep seats in the party planner.
