Creator Chronicles Tavern talks for fragile members

The launch building that turns mood from a hidden number into a conversation.

Tavern and Mood

The Tavern is not in the public demo you can download this week. Origin Studio added it for Closed Beta 2 and listed it among the 14 September 2026 full-build systems: talk with guild members at the Tavern and help manage their mood. This page is what that building is for, how it sits next to the existing mood meter, and why Conqueror players should plan a tile for it before they plan a fourth house. Pair it with mood and loyalty for the meter itself and the village planner for the plot.

The campaign stays single-player. You are not inviting Steam friends to a shared inn. You are sitting a glass-hearted Priest down after a wipe so they do not delete their login.

What CBT2 actually tested

CBT2 recruitment copy said testers who had cleared the public demo would see a private build through Raid 1, with the new Tavern as a focus. If your current client has no tavern button, you are on the public slice. Do not hunt a hidden hotkey. The demo notes list what that slice contains: about 120 members, four normal dungeons, no tavern stool.

Launch news also groups the Tavern with Hall of Battle and ranking seasons. Those three are the social layer of a single-player game: talk at home, fight other masters’ parties asynchronously, chase a board. None of that is a live raid. See rankings for the boards.

Mood without a tavern

Even in the demo, mood already moves when a party returns, when a companion dies, and when the village grows. Low mood cuts combat stats and gathering speed. On Conqueror, low mood can become a permanent leave. Death also resets that member to level 1. Beginner and Adventurer block permanent leave and the level reset; they still let mood sag. Difficulty locks at new game on character creation.

Without a tavern, your levers are food, rest, not sending a level 1 healer into Hidden Swamp, and reading the battle log. The combat guide is the wipe page. The Tavern is the conversation after the wipe.

How to use it on 14 September

Treat the Tavern like a production building that outputs mood instead of potions:

  1. Place it on a road. Members walk at 2x on roads; a tavern in a mud patch is a delayed talk.
  2. Send the person who just ate a pack, not the person who is already happy on the farm.
  3. Talk before you re-queue Hidden Swamp. A second wipe on a red mood bar is how Conqueror deletes a named invite from the roster.
  4. Do not park your only tank in the tavern while a dungeon is running. Parallel parties still need a body in the cave.

Studio copy says you help manage mood through interactions. It does not publish a full dialogue tree. This wiki will not invent romance flags or gift lists. If 1.0 ships a gift slot, we will add it here after it exists.

Who needs the tavern first

Priests and Warlocks feel wipes harder because they are glass. Rogues on Conqueror are the other high-risk seat. Tanks with dwarf health can wait a fight longer. Named early people still follow the same meter: Lettuce, Seran, Mona, Kanji, Joram, Confidence. A canon favorite from studio shorts does not get a hidden immunity. Rank the job on the class list, then keep the person.

If you are still in the demo, practice the habit without the building: pause after a wipe, check mood icons, feed someone, and only then press F. On launch day, drop the Tavern as soon as gold allows, then send the saddest name in. Confirm the system is live on the roadmap and the launch notes. Demo saves still do not carry; the stool you place on 14 September is a new stool.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for new guild masters.

Is the Tavern in the public demo?

No. CBT2 and the 14 September full build list it. Public demo contents sit on the demo page.

Does talking in the Tavern stop quits?

It is the launch lever for mood. Conqueror can still lose people after deaths. Read mood for the meter.

Where should I place the Tavern?

On a road, after houses and the lab. The village planner is the plot order.

Is the Tavern multiplayer?

No. You talk to your own members. Other masters show up only as asynchronous parties in rankings.

Should I delay Hidden Swamp until I have a Tavern?

No. Clear the swamp in the demo and on launch morning. Build the Tavern when gold allows; start with getting started.
